Donna Lee Reed National Motivational Speaker, Artist and Author of “Life Is A Puzzle, Until You Find The Missing Pieces!”
Donna Lee Reed, currently an author, artist, motivational speaker, and a successful businesswoman was once a battered wife who escaped from the horror of domestic abuse.
As a 23-year-old single mother, on welfare and embarrassed, Donna decided to do something about her circumstances by enrolling in college.
While attending school to supplement her income, she began to make arts and crafts. When her youngest child entered school full time, Donna began working full time.
Her desire to be home with her children coupled with the need to take care of her aging parents motivated Donna to turn her craft/hobby into a full time business.
"I have always enjoyed helping others and working with my hands creating unique and useful items. The path to my current success has been far from smooth. Many times self-determination and perseverance have had to substitute for money and resources. Sometimes it can be difficult to juggle the commitments of business, while remaining responsive to the needs of my family, friends, community, and church. But as a Christian woman, I know that I am 'Too Blessed to Be Stressed!' and every time I was down to nothing I realized God was up to something, so I would continue to pray for strength and guidance and move on."
In 1996, God gave Donna a vision for her four, then teenage daughters and their own product line called "T-Bags". They began to design tote bags and because each of the girls' names start with the letter "T" (Taneka, Takeshia, Tajuana, and Tianda) they called them T-Bags. Today, T-Bags’ has a full line of inspirational products. The girls are now young ladies and all have families of their own but are still very actively involved with T-Bags.
